CLUB SERVICE
- Honored by Junior Achievement on their 50th Anniversary (founded in 1959 by 11 members of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale)
- Sent Tom Edwards, a WWII veteran, to Washington for WWII veterans recognition
- Surveyed the membership twice, at the beginning and end of the year and used results to set the direction for the club in 2008-09 and years to come
- Implement "The Rule of 85" for long standing Rotarians
- Created our club's own Mission, Vision and 8 Long Term Goals
- Implemented a formal Grants Application and Approval process
- The Fort Lauderdale Rotary 1090 Foundation, Inc. established an Investment Committee and Formal Investment Policies
- Visited and then hosted a hospitalized and stranded Rotarian from NSW Australia until she was well enough to fly home. Have approved a Sister Club relationship with her Rotary Club in Australia
- Partnered with The Wheelchair Foundation, Inc. to donate 48 wheelchairs to disabled individuals somewhere in the world in the name of our weekly lunch meeting Speakers
- Communications were enhanced with improvements to the website and more regular and informative e-mails to members
- Limited non-profit weekly programs and delivered most popular lunch program content and better speakers
- Anticipate a balance budget for the year 2008-2009
