PROGRAM:

Lloyd Rhodes introduced Dianne from the Broward Public Library Foundation.  The Foundation was incorporated in 1982 to enhance the collections, programs, and services of Broward County Library beyond the means of public funding.  The Foundation is the catalyst in sparking private funding and endowments to enrich the Broward County Library system.   Some of the programs that have been developed are the Summer Reading Program, SAT and Computer Training, Children’s Book Fair and Books and Bears.  On Saturday, March 20, 2010 the Broward Public Library Foundation announce the Literary Feast which begins with a cocktail reception, book sales and signing, followed by a series of dinner parties hosted in distinctive homes and restaurants.  Authors will meet book lovers and will include panel discussions and lectures.  The event is free and open to the public.  The Foundation relies on memberships, sponsorships, grants, planned giving and the Literary Feast to generate their income.  The presentation ended with a question and answer period.

Thanks to Art Stone for letting us have our meeting at the beautiful Antique Car Museum.  Also thanks to CA Messana Catering for a delicious luncheon.
