Rotary One Minute:

WHAT TYPES OF ROTARY FOUNDATION RECOGNITION EXIST FOR CLUBS?

ANSWER:

100 PERCENT PAUL HARRIS FELLOW CLUB!

Rotary Clubs in which 100 percent of all dues paying members are Paul Harris Fellows receive special recognition from The Rotary Foundation.  Qualifying Rotary Clubs receive a special large club recognition banner, and the club name is engraved on a plaque in the Rotary Foundation Hall of Honor at Rotary International World Headquarters in Evanston, IL.

The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation present clubs recognition banners, each year, to the three Rotary Clubs in each District, having the number one, two and third highest per capita giving to the Annual Programs Fund. Then any club with $100 per capita and 100% Member Participation in Annual Program Fund will receive a banner. Also, a larger banner is awarded to those clubs that are a 100% Sustaining Member Club in Annual Programs Fund contributions.

PROGRAM

Lloyd Rhodes introduce Cyril S. Spiro, Chairman and Founder of Regent Bank which has been serving Broward and Palm Beach County since 1986.  Mr. Spiro stated that currently our financial institutes are in a "hodge podge" of a mess.  There are debates going on, on how to regulate and who is to regulate the commercial banks and the mortgage bankers and brokers.  He stated that the banks do not want to hold a foreclosure house since it costs them money, however it can take over a  year to receive an uncontested foreclosure in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.  He also stated that people and businesses are not borrowing money as they have in the past.  He then had a brief question and answer period.

TEN DAY NOTICE

Tyler Bolander who is sponsored by LInda Cooke and his classification is Benefits Consulting.

Bart Cleri who is sponsored by Marge Matinale and his classification is Mortgage Banker.

Jean Willey who is sponsored by Melissa Aiello (and is Birch Willey's daughter) and her classification is Busniess Development.

FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

    1.   Is it the TRUTH?

       2.   Is it FAIR to all concerned?

       3.   Will it build GOOD WILL and

              BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

       4.   Will it be BENEFICIAL to all

              concerned?
