PROGRAM

Joe Milsaps introduced Vice Admiral Mel Williams, Jr. who is the commander of the US Second Fleet.  He spoke about how much the sailors, the coast guards and the marines enjoy Fleet Week and that this year there is also a German ship present.  The Second Fleet are responsible for operations on the east coast, the Gulf of Mexico and Homeland Security.  They respond to disasters to ensure that the we are protected.  In addition,  they prepare forces for oversea deployment.  Admiral Williams stated that "the pirates have such audacity to attack US ships".  Currently we have 11 pirates in prison.  He also stated that he had his marines and sailors ready within three days to go to Haiti and assist in relief efforts after the recent earthquake.  Even as an "old timer" Admiral Williams is constantly inspired by the young men and woman that serve our country.  He then had a question and answer period.

FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

    1.   Is it the TRUTH?

       2.   Is it FAIR to all concerned?

       3.   Will it build GOOD WILL and

              BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

       4.   Will it be BENEFICIAL to all

              concerned?
