PROGRAM

County Commissioner Stacy Ritter who represents District 3 in Northwest Broward, spoke about the 14% drop of property values in Broward County which will ultimately cause a drop in the County's budget.  Parks and library's will be either closed earlier or closed one day a week in order to help the budget as well as other cuts in the upcoming fiscal year.  She stated that Broward County is the second largest county in the state of Florida and we will be seeing projects such as the airport and the expansion of Port Everglades come together.

Melissa Aiello thanked all those that attended the luncheon and read some of the inspiring letters written by some of the children that have attend JA World.  Les Campbell spoke about the history of Junior Achievement and JA World and stated that 40,000 children will attend JA World for a day every year.  The facility is 60,000 square feet and currently consists of two main programs: Biz Town for 5th graders and Finance Park for 8th graders.  Since the attendance to JA World is mandatory for every Broward County public school child, they have to go through a 20 hour curriculum before attending.

FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

    1.   Is it the TRUTH?

       2.   Is it FAIR to all concerned?

       3.   Will it build GOOD WILL and

              BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

       4.   Will it be BENEFICIAL to all

              concerned?
