PROGRAM

Lloyd Rhodes introducedthe Republican candidate for Senator Marco Rubio who was born in 1971 in Miami to Cuban born parents.  His father was a bartender and his mother had various jobs such as a cashier, maid and stock person.  Rubio graduated in 1993 with a bachelor of science from the University of Florida and continued his studies at the University of Miami.  He always wanted to be in politics and worked on Dole's campaign.  Rubio stated that the political process has been broken for the past 20 years and we have a government that spends money that it doesn't have.  We are borrowing money from all over the world and the debt is an extraordinary problem.  We must reform social security and medicare since it will not exist for the people of the next generation. We cannot have people retiring at the age of 62, when medicine is allowing people to live to the age of 90.  The government has to figure out how to increase our economy while reducing expenses.  National Security is a big threat, said Rubio, other countries have missiles and global terrorism is getting worse and worse and our nuclear power has not been upgraded in 30 years.  Rubio stated that if we deal with these problems we would not leave them to our kids, if we fail we will be the first generation to leave our children not better off than we were.

       3.   Will it build GOOD WILL and

              BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

       4.   Will it be BENEFICIAL to all

              concerned?
